About Cushy Index

We built the salary tool we always wanted — one that tells you what your salary actually means.

Why We Built This

Most salary calculators tell you your net pay and stop there. But a net salary of €3,200/month means something very different in Zaragoza versus Barcelona. After rent, groceries, and the baseline cost of city life, the "same" salary can feel like two completely different financial realities.

We built Cushy Index to answer the questions that actually matter: Am I doing well for my city? Can I afford to live here comfortably? Would I be better off moving? Am I in the top 10% — and does that actually feel like it?

The result is the Cushy Index — a composite 0–100 score that adjusts for taxes, rent, city costs, and lifestyle to give you a true read on your financial comfort.

Transparency first: We show our methodology openly. No black boxes. Every number comes with context and a clear explanation.

Honest estimates, not fake precision: Salary calculations involve real uncertainty. We use ranges and clearly label estimates rather than pretending to exactness we don't have.

Privacy by default: You never need to create an account. Your salary data is never stored unless you explicitly choose to submit it. Share cards hide your exact salary by default.

No ads. No bias.: We don't take money from employers or recruiters to promote their roles or bias our salary data. Our recommendations are based on math, not commissions.
